About Us

Founded in 2012, our program has grown from a small two room facility to a multi-site operation. Rock and Roll Daycare is dedicated to providing a top notch, safe, quality education program with lasting impact through researched practice implementation. In comparison, we are raising the bar to compensate our  educators equitably. The professionalism standards we hold our educators to are insightful indicators of the respect due to early educators.

As a result, Rock and Roll Daycare won Boston Magazine’s Best of Boston award for multiple years.

CEO and President TQ

My Vietnamese name is Tố Quyên and I go by TQ. As a first-time parent living in Los Angeles back in 2017, I found myself struggling to navigate the complexities of parenthood. My infant son attended a local daycare, where his patient and dedicated teachers worked tirelessly to teach him how to drink from a bottle. I was struck by their unwavering commitment to providing the best possible care for my child; those teachers inspired me to pursue a career in early education.

Fast forward to February of 2020, and I officially joined the early education field. As a new small business owner, I faced the pandemonium of the pandemic years head-on. My diverse background in areas such as finance, IT consultancy, and scouting, combined with my MBA from Boston College and my passion for slow travel and exploring different cultures, has led me to a clear mission in this field. I want to create a well-rounded program that fosters a love of learning in our young students through music, cultural and child-led education. My ultimate goal is to prepare these young learners for a lifetime of discovery and growth.

My ambitions extend beyond my individual business. As a CEO, I am determined to be a force for positive change in the industry. I am committed to working tirelessly to ensure that all educators and administrators in the early education field are respected, valued, and recognized for their vital contributions to our communities. I believe that by fostering professional development, career growth and financial success for everyone involved in this field, we can create a more compassionate, equitable, and effective early education system.

Executive Director Felicia

My name is Felicia Billy. I have worked in the field of early education for over 20 years in various capacities and age groupings. I became a certified teacher through the state of Massachusetts after completing the early education major at my vocational high school. I went on to further study in early education at Winston Salem State University and Graduated Summa Cum Laude from Springfield College. I am currently working towards my Master of Education at UMass Boston.

I value education and the ability to affect many lives positively. As an early education professional, my responsibility is to exemplify moral and ethical values and practices. As an educator and leader, I am determined to invest in families and educators as an extended support system. I believe in creating meaningful partnerships between families and educators to create the best outcomes for children. Providing a safe, nurturing environment for exploring new experiences and an environment for understanding the world is of principal importance to my educational philosophy.

Regional Field Director Erin

Hi, my name is Erin Nelson. I’m originally from upstate New York but moved to Cambridge in 2006 and have been working in the Early Childhood field here since. From a young age, my love for working with children informed my career trajectory. I began as a teacher in infant and toddler classrooms and worked in various administrative and managerial positions while continuing my education. In 2020 I completed my Master’s from Umass Boston in Early Childhood, welcomed the pandemic, and then my daughter, Aurelia. Most recently, I worked in Early Intervention as a developmental therapist, where the priority was to deliver personalized strategies to each family based on their individual goals. I am grateful to have been welcomed into many homes and learn what is most important to parents as they navigate their child’s education and development.

At this next intersection, it is essential for me to choose opportunities that are aligned with my core values of equal access and informed practice in Early Childhood Development and Education; I’m so excited this path brought me to Rock and Roll Daycare where the Montessori inspired curriculum and uniquely trained and qualified professional staff exceed the current climate and challenges in this ever-changing field. Post-pandemic, priorities for families have shifted; the landscape of early education is experiencing a revitalization, highlighting the success of focus on the developing child. What a time to be alive!

I look forward to learning and growing with everyone.

Here at RRDC we offer an amazing program with elite educators and an outstanding curriculum and music program! When joining RRDC you’re not just joining a school, you’re joining a family!

When I am not at Rock and Roll Daycare or connecting with our amazing Future Rockers, you can find me with my husband at a baseball field or dance competition supporting and cheering on our three beloved children. Music Director Chen

I first joined Rock and Roll Daycare in 2012 as a Music Specialist and was offered Music Director position in 2021. Love, patience, kindness, and perseverance – these are the words I live by as a musician and an educator. Working with young children has been a great joy. They are creative, curious, imaginative, and musical. Teaching the music classes and seeing the children grow and progress, remind me how music naturally connects people, and how important music education is to young students. I believe that through quality music classes and enrichment, music will carry on a long way in students’ lives.

I received my Bachelor’s degree in Education and Viola Performance from Taipei Municipal University of Education in Taiwan, and graduate degrees from Boston Conservatory and Boston University. As a violist, I have toured extensively throughout the US and abroad, and I regularly perform as a soloist, chamber music and orchestra musician. Outside of music, I enjoy hiking and exploring new trails.
