Porter Square

1971 Massachusetts Ave, MA 02140
The newly opened Porter Square center is on Massachusetts Avenue, a short walk from the Porter Square MBTA station. The site is accessible by the 77 bus and the MBTA Red Line. Porter is a shopping destination for both local and regional and also has distinctive independent local shops around the area.

Upon coming in front of the front door, the warmth of the school is immediately comforting with the sound of classical music. Our center prospers with a music based and emergent curriculum. We have a caring, stimulating environment for children to explore and make them feel like they are home. Our Porter Square location has a group of caregivers that are very diverse and caring towards each child.  It is the home of some of our longest tenure staff members and the care center of choice for many of our staff members’ children and grandchildren.

Delicia Clarke, Center Director

My name is Delicia Clarke

I am currently the Director at Porter Square, and I started working as a Teacher. I strive to get to know the field from both ends and love that I can support my children and team in our center to succeed.

I have been working with children since 2007, and I have enjoyed it from the very beginning.

I like watching TV and hanging out with my teen children if they have time.  I have a small dog named Chase who’s a chihuahua Pekingese, and boy he brings a lot of barks to your ears.

My favorite child book would be The Family Book because it shows diverse families and that’s what the world looks like around us all.

Maira Torres, Program Specialist

Hello, my name is Maira Torres, and I am originally from El Salvador. I bring many years of experience in early childhood education and truly enjoy supporting children as they learn, grow, and explore the world around them. As a mother of three daughters, including a set of twins, I understand how important it is for families to feel confident that their children are in a safe, caring, and supportive environment.

I believe every child deserves to feel valued, included, and encouraged to learn at their own pace. I am passionate about fostering a growth mindset in both children and educators—celebrating effort, curiosity, and continuous learning. I enjoy supporting and coaching team members, collaborating with staff, and creating a positive classroom culture where educators feel empowered and supported in their professional growth.

By partnering with families and working closely with our dedicated team, I strive to create meaningful, hands-on learning experiences that nurture confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning. I am committed to providing high-quality care and building a strong, supportive community for every child and family we serve.
